Overview

The film is based on real historical facts of the First World War. The action takes place in Galicia. Metropolitan Andrey, the head of the Uniate Church, who wants to permanently link Western Ukraine with the Austrian crown, assigns Roman, a young cornet of the Austrian army, to guard the archives at St. George's Cathedral.
