개요
나치의 박해를 받던 추기경이 국가의 정권이 공산정부로 넘어가게 되자 이유없이 감옥에 갇힌다. 새로 정권을 잡은 공산당의 정치가들은 나라에서 카톨릭이라는 종교 자체를 묵살 시킬려고 주인공을 고문하고 세뇌 시킨다. 하지만 종교적 신념으로 무장한 그를 설득하기란 쉽지가 않는데.
