François Perrin is een veertigjarige journalist die al twee jaar werkloos is. Eindelijk vindt hij een nieuwe baan, bij het bekende France Hebdo. Dat is eigendom van de excentrieke miljardair Rambal-Cochet. Deze neemt elke dag deel aan de redactievergadering en zo ontmoet deze machtige man de eenvoudige Perrin. Zijn zoon Pierre vindt François zo leuk dat hij hem prompt als speelgoed wil.
