There will be no James Bond film for Christopher Nolan: "Unsubstantiated rumors."

The chance is about 0.07 percent, if you believe the “Oppenheimer” director.

Sorry, all Nolan fans, but it seems there are no James Bond films in sight for the director.

It sounded too good to be true. Would the man behind “The Dark Knight” and “Interstellar” get to take on one of the film world’s most beloved series? Certainly, you can see how the spy franchise has influenced some of his films, but negotiations with the 007 producers are not happening. Not right now, anyway.

“Unfortunately not. There is no truth in these rumors,” he says in an interview with AP.

During the fall, we were hit with the rumor that Nolan would make a Bond film with a unique twist: a story set in the 50s or 60s, just like Ian Fleming’s novels. Then came the next report: two films were waiting for Nolan if he accepted the mission.

He commented on his Bond chances this summer with the words:

“It’s embarrassingly obvious how much my films have been inspired by those films. It would be an incredible honor to make one. But at the same time, when you take on such a character, you get specific limitations to work with. It has to be at the right moment in your creative life where you can express what you want to express. But I never want to take on something like that and do it wrong.”

Do you think we will ever see Nolan tackle a film about our beloved 007? Feel free to comment.
