Los Angeles (dpa) – This year, two films featuring German actress Sandra Hüller (45) have been nominated for the top award of the US Producers Guild. Both the British historical drama “The Zone of Interest” and the French legal drama “Anatomy of a Case,” in which Hüller plays a leading role, are among the ten nominations for the top award, announced the Producers Guild of America (PGA) on Friday.
This marks the first time that two non-US films have been nominated. The award is considered a barometer for the Oscars, which will be presented on March 10.
Also in the race: “American Fiction,” “Barbie,” “The Holdovers,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” “Oppenheimer,” “Past Lives,” and “Poor Things.” More than 8,000 film producers will vote on the awards. The Hollywood producers’ trophies will be presented for the 35th time on February 25.
