Leonardo DiCaprio nets a record sum for "Killers of the Flower Moon"

Everything is getting more expensive these days, but not everyone needs to double-check price tags at the grocery store. Screenrant reports that Leonardo DiCaprio’s salary for the currently showing “Killers of the Flower Moon” has leaked, and it’s a substantial amount. The historical crime drama has added $40 million to the actor’s finances, or approximately 436 million Swedish crowns.

Reportedly, this is the highest DiCaprio has earned for a Martin Scorsese film. The film’s budget was already an impressive $200 million, so for those who can calculate (which I kindly admit is not always my strong suit), it means that a full fifth of the budget went to Leo’s salary. At least that’s what knowledgeable sources say.

Even though it’s his highest sum earned on a Scorsese film, it’s not the most he has earned for a single film. Considering the contract conditions underlying the variable parts of the salary, it can be tricky to know exactly how much DiCaprio earned for each film, but Screenrant has calculated that he should have received between 50 and 60 million dollars for “Inception.” In today’s currency, that’s somewhere between 545 and 654 million Swedish kronor.

Now, I don’t know how good or bad Leonardo DiCaprio is at handling money, but hopefully, he has saved some and won’t freeze this winter.

If you want to support the poor actor, Martin Scorsese, and the production companies behind them, it’s perfectly fine to buy tickets for “Killers of the Flower Moon” at Swedish cinemas for a while longer.
